2. How much will the tattoo cost?

Getting a tattoo is a big decision, and one of the most common questions we get asked is, “How much does a tattoo cost?” At Stabby’zz Tattoo and Piercing Studio, we charge by the piece, not by the hour. This gives our clients peace of mind knowing that the price they’re quoted won’t change, regardless of how long it takes.

Now, we understand that tattoos can be expensive, but there’s a reason for that. Our talented artists have spent years honing their craft and perfecting their skills. They use only the highest quality inks and equipment, and they take the time to ensure that every tattoo they create is a work of art.

At Stabby’zz, we believe that everyone should have access to high-quality tattoos, which is why we offer free consultations to help you determine the best design for your budget. Our artists will work with you to create a custom piece that fits your style and personality, and we’ll provide you with a transparent and fair price quote upfront.

So, if you’re considering getting a tattoo, don’t let the cost hold you back. Come in for a free consultation at Stabby’zz Tattoo and Piercing Studio, and let us help you create a stunning piece of art that you’ll cherish forever.

3. How to prepare for an upcoming tattoo?

Preparing your skin properly can make a big difference in how your tattoo turns out, as well as how quickly it heals. Here are some tips to help you prepare your skin for a tattoo:

  1. Avoid sun exposure: Sun exposure can cause your skin to become dry and damaged, which can make it more difficult for the tattoo artist to work on. If you are planning on getting a tattoo, avoid sun exposure for at least a week beforehand. If you can’t avoid the sun, make sure to use sunscreen with a high SPF.
  2. Exfoliate the skin: Exfoliating the skin can help to remove dead skin cells and make the surface of your skin smoother. This can help the tattoo artist to work more easily and create a cleaner, sharper tattoo. However, make sure to exfoliate gently and avoid over-exfoliating, which can cause irritation.
  3. Moisturize the skin: Keeping your skin moisturized is important for preventing dryness and ensuring that the tattoo heals properly. Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer on the area you plan to get tattooed for at least a week before your appointment.
  4. Protect the skin from scratches: Scratches or cuts on the skin can make it more difficult for the tattoo artist to work, as well as increase the risk of infection. If you have any cuts or scratches, it’s best to wait until they have fully healed before getting a tattoo.
  5. Avoid smoking and overly tanning: Smoking and overly tanning can age the skin and affect the canvas, making it more difficult for the tattoo artist to create a clean, sharp design.

4. How long does a tattoo take to heal?

The general rule for tattoo healing is about one month, but it varies for each person. Once the peeling and scabbing stage is over, the tattoo is typically considered healed. However, it may take several months for the ink to fully settle into the skin and achieve its desired color, ranging from bronze to grey. It’s essential to follow aftercare instructions from your tattoo artist to ensure proper healing and prevent any complications.

5. Can I cover up an old tattoo?

Are you regretting a tattoo you got in the past? Or maybe the design doesn’t match your current style or taste? Don’t worry, you’re not stuck with it forever. Tattoo coverups are possible and can give you a fresh start.

We have experienced artists who specialize in tattoo coverups. It’s important to keep in mind that coverups are often more challenging than creating a tattoo on fresh skin. The artist must consider the existing design, the colors used, and the size and location of the tattoo.

To achieve the best results, we recommend being open to the artist’s suggestions for the new design. They have the expertise to create a design that not only covers up the old tattoo but also looks aesthetically pleasing on your skin. Our artists will work with you to come up with a design that you’ll be happy with.

6. Health and safety

We take health and safety very seriously. We understand that getting a tattoo or piercing can be a big decision, and we want our clients to feel comfortable and confident in their choice of studio.

That’s why we use disposable needles for both tattooing and piercing. This ensures that there is no risk of cross-contamination or the spread of blood-borne pathogens. We also use high-quality, pre-sterilized jewelry for all piercings.

In addition to our use of disposable equipment, we also maintain a strict cleaning and sanitization regimen. Our studio is cleaned thoroughly between each client, and all surfaces and equipment are sanitized with medical-grade cleaning products.

Our team of artists and piercers are all trained in proper infection control and sterilization techniques. We take pride in providing a safe and clean environment for all of our clients.

So when you choose Stabbyzz Tattoo and Piercing, you can rest assured that your health and safety is our top priority. Come visit us and experience the difference of a studio that takes your well-being seriously.

7. Client etiquette

Ah, the joy of getting a tattoo. The adrenaline, the endorphins, the permanence. But before you jump into the chair, let’s talk about some client etiquette to make sure you and your tattoo artist have a smooth and enjoyable experience.

First things first, don’t forget to eat! A hungry client is a grumpy client, and no one wants a hangry person messing with their body. Plus, food gives you energy, and getting a tattoo can be draining. So, load up on some carbs and proteins before your appointment and avoid getting hangry during your session.

Next, show up on time. We all know that traffic can be unpredictable, but your tattoo artist’s time is precious. They might be a little prickly if you’re late, and you don’t want to start your session on the wrong foot.

Speaking of feet, keep them clean! Shower and wear clean clothes to your appointment. No one wants to smell your BO, and it’s not fair to subject your tattoo artist to it either.

Now, let’s talk about alcohol and drugs. We get it, getting a tattoo can be painful, but don’t be tempted to drink or do drugs beforehand. It can affect the quality of your tattoo, and no one wants to see a blurry, drunken mess on their body forever.

Once you’re in the chair, be honest about your pain tolerance. It’s okay to ask for a break or let your tattoo artist know if you’re in pain. Don’t try to be a hero and tough it out. You’ll only make it harder for yourself and your artist.

Lastly, don’t bring an entourage. It’s okay to bring a friend or two for moral support, but don’t bring your entire squad. Your tattoo artist needs space to work, and too many people can be distracting. Plus, you don’t want your friends to see you cry like a baby.

8. Tattoo aftercare

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to take care of your new tattoo at Stabby’zz Tattoo Studio:

  1. Leave the saran wrap on for two hours after getting your tattoo. This will protect the tattoo at its most vulnerable stage and help it heal.
  2. After two hours, remove the saran wrap and gently clean your tattoo with unscented soap and water. Rinse off all soap residue, which can cause skin dryness and affect proper healing. Lightly moisturize immediately using Aquaphor Eucerin to keep your skin hydrated. Repeat this step four times a day until your tattoo is fully healed.
  3. Avoid going to the gym or swimming until your tattoo is fully healed. Sweat and water can damage your new tattoo and delay the healing process.
  4. Keep your tattoo away from dirty hands and animal fur to prevent infections and maintain its beauty. Don’t itch or pick at your tattoo!
  5. Avoid exposing your tattoo to the sun and drinking alcohol, as they can damage the healing process.

If you have any questions or concerns, our team at Stabby’zz Tattoo Studio is always here to assist you in every step of the tattoo aftercare process. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

9. Piercing aftercare

Aftercare for your piercing is just as important as the piercing process itself. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you take care of your new piercing:

  1. Keep the piercing area clean: Use saline solution twice a day or when needed. Avoid using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide or polysporin as they can irritate the skin.
  2. Dry by gently patting with a clean, disposable paper products because cloth towels can harbour bacteria and snag on jewelry, causing damage.
  3. Avoid touching the piercing with dirty hands: This can introduce bacteria to the piercing site and cause infection.
  4. Don’t remove the jewelry: For the first few weeks, leave the jewelry in place to allow the piercing to heal properly and don’t rotate piercing while healing.
  5. Avoid swimming and submerging the piercing: Chlorine and other chemicals in the water can irritate the skin and delay the healing process.
  6. Avoid tight clothing and sleeping on the piercing: Tight clothing can rub against the piercing and cause irritation, while sleeping on the piercing can cause trauma.
  7. Do not put makeup around piercings.
  8. Be patient: Piercings take time to heal, and everyone’s healing process is different. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months for your piercing to heal completely.

At Stabbyzz Tattoo and Piercing, we prioritize your health and safety. That’s why we use disposable needles for both tattooing and piercing, and everything is sanitized to the highest standards. If you have any questions or concerns about your piercing aftercare, don’t hesitate to reach out to our experienced piercers for advice.
